We Meet Again!

A couple of weeks ago our good friends from college, Bri and Jon, were in Austin with their beautiful new daughter, Ellie, for a wedding. As soon as Tom and I knew they’d have a few free hours we made plans to drive to Austin to see them – it’s not every day that friends from the Midwest are within two hours of our small town in central Texas. (Our friend Kristin was in Austin for the wedding as well, but sadly we missed her.)

Nearly three hours flew by as we caught up on the goings-on of the past year. (We hadn’t seen Bri and Jon since last spring. Check out one of my favorite pictures from that trip – Jon is watching TV, completely oblivious to the four rowdy children climbing all over him.) I love that when Tom and I get together with our college friends, even if months have passed since we last talked in person, we can pick up exactly where we left off.

Too quickly though, we all had to go our separate ways – our kids were starting to fall apart and were ready to nap in the car on the drive back to College Station, and Bri, Jon, and Ellie had to head to the airport for their flight back to Illinois. ‘Til we meet again…
